Among the key ongoing projects is the Phase I renovation of Yangwan operation area in Taizhou Port's Gaogang area to upgrade the existing terminal. Once completed, the berth will be able to accommodate 70,000-metric-ton bulk carriers, with an annual design throughput of 5.2 million tons. The foundations for the three newly built large warehouses—covering a total area of over 20,000 square meters—are taking shape. These warehouses will feature automated and intelligent bulk cargo handling systems, significantly improving Taizhou's logistics capacity for bulk commodities.
Another major project, the comprehensive terminal expansion of China Energy Taizhou Power Generation, is also progressing steadily. The original 2,000-ton terminal is being upgraded into a 35,000-ton coal berth with an annual throughput capacity of 3.81 million tons. Workers are currently extending lifting equipment tracks while upgrading the wastewater collection system and the terminal's hydraulic structures.
This year, Jiangsu province's transportation fixed asset investment plan includes 11 Taizhou port projects: three complete, one ongoing, and seven newly launched projects. These developments are expected to enhance the city's port infrastructure and boost its role in regional and national logistics.
