Located in Dainan town, Xinghua, Xinghua High-Tech Zone was approved for development by the Jiangsu provincial government on Jan 21, 2020.

This zone has developed into a specialized industrial hub that focuses on stainless steel-based advanced metal materials and products, tire cord steel for the automotive sector, and pharmaceutical packaging. It is recognized as the world's largest production base for steel cord, China's largest distribution center for stainless steel raw materials, and East China's leading trading hub for stainless steel products.

Xinghua High-Tech Zone is home to over 3,000 micro, small, and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises, 286 large-scale industrial firms, and 188 high-tech enterprises. In 2024, the zone recorded an industrial sales revenue of 53.7 billion yuan ($7.45 billion).

Three key research platforms anchor the zone's robust innovation ecosystem: the Xinghua Center of Materials Academy under Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute, the Xinghua Base of Jiangsu Special Alloy Technology Innovation Center, and China's first national stainless steel quality inspection center at the township level.

With over 60 years of industrial development, Xinghua High-Tech Zone has built a comprehensive stainless steel industrial chain that encompasses recycled material trading, smelting, inspection, rolling, surface treatment, product manufacturing, logistics, and marketing. The zone hosts over 1,000 stainless steel enterprises that produce more than 10,000 varieties across 40 categories. It supplies nearly 70 percent of China's stainless steel, welding wire, and 80 percent of shaped and non-standard stainless products. It is also the country's largest production base for valve steel.

Its industrial ecosystem includes industry leaders like Xingda Steel Tyre Cord and Shenyuan Group, as well as rising stars such as New Hongda. Over 40,000 people from the zone are engaged in stainless steel recycling and sales, supported by more than 4,000 collection sites and 960 recycling companies, with annual recycled volumes exceeding 1.5 million metric tons.

Xinghua High-Tech Zone is advancing a transformation and upgrading roadmap for the stainless steel industry, focusing on seven key areas: centralized recycling, smelting, surface treatment, logistics, quality inspection, product display, and trading, aiming to become a national leader in the development of advanced metal materials and products.

Furthermore, Xinghua High-Tech Zone operates a province-level logistics center with a nationwide logistics network, 145 dedicated lines, and 1,195 transit points.
