On July 29, the Information Office of Jiangsu Provincial People's Government held a press conference in Taizhou in which Wan Wenhua, mayor of Taizhou, outlined the city's progress in the high-quality development of its health industry.
Wan described the health industry as Taizhou's most distinctive and advantageous industry, with favorable policies, a comprehensive industrial ecosystem, and a leading competitive edge. She emphasized that this industry plays a strategic role in Taizhou's high-quality development.
Taizhou's strength largely lies in health manufacturing, including pharmaceutical manufacturing and food processing, noted Wan. She revealed that the city aims to advance along the industrial value chain towards mid-to-high-end sectors and expand its scale through cross-regional and cross-sector collaboration.
The city will also enhance technological innovation capabilities within the industry and promote the commercialization of innovations. Additionally, it will accelerate digitalization, guiding companies to adopt new production lines, methods, and management practices, so as to drive overall quality and efficiency improvements in the industry, said the mayor.
Wan highlighted that the development of the health industry is of great importance to both economic growth and public welfare. Taizhou will continue to focus on enhancing health benefits for its citizens by expanding and upgrading medical resources and optimizing services.
