Taizhou is located in the middle of the Province of Jiangsu, north of the Yangtze River. Northern latitude is from 32°01'57" to 33°10'59", and Eastern longitude is from 119°38'24" to 120°32'20". To its south is the Yangtze River, north is Yancheng, east is Nantong and to the west is Yangzhou. Taizhou occupies the intersection of 5 channels entering the Yangtze River and the sea, and situated at the junction of the shaped industrial belt along the sea and the Yangtze River.
In spite of Jinjiang having a single hill, other areas are all alluvial plains forged by the Yangtze River and Huaihe River. The terrain is high in the middle and low in the two sides. The height of the southern areas along the Yangtze River is 2-5 meters, the height of the middle high sand areas is 5-7 meters, and the height of the northern river areas is 1.5-5 meters. The whole area of the city is 5,787 square meters, including 77.85% land and 22.15% water. The urban areas are 639.6 square kilometers.
