It was learnt from Hailing District on February 23 that the district planned to carry out 25 acquisition and removal (shantytowns transformation, old and dilapidated house governance) projects with total area of about one million square meters in 2016. The first batch of 18 housing acquisition and removal plots has been confirmed, involving more than 2,100 households.
It was learnt that during the 12th Five-Year Plan period, the reconstruction of old city in Hailing District had achieved greater breakthrough, but for some historical reasons, the urban planning region had been constantly adjusted and the construction and development of old town with dense population was hysteretic. In 2016, Hailing District will center on five aspects to continuously carry out housing acquisition and removal work, namely optimizing and improving environment of the east gate; renovating and perfecting environment of the west gate; propelling renovation of villages in the city in southern part of city; accelerating renovation of shanty towns in northern part of city; and promoting image of central urban area by improving image of the last shanty towns on both sides of South Hailing Road and focusing on recovering original fabric and appearance.
Reportedly, the first batch of 18 housing acquisition and removal plots has specified the time order. And the district will duly carry out 6 acquisition and removal projects including southern plot of Yingchun Road and surrounding plot of Meilanchun Liquor Factory within the year.
