Before the 28th World Reading Day, on the morning of April 20, Taizhou held a grand opening ceremony of 2023 Taizhou "Hu Yuan Reading Festival" & thematic reading activity of carrying forward the spirit of daring to do, daring to break through, daring to take responsibilities and daring to pioneer in Taifuli Plaza, the financial center, to conscientiously study and implement the keynote of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, further promote the reading activities in the whole society, and guide everyone in the whole city to regard reading and learning as a life attitude, a work responsibility and a spiritual pursuit. Secretary of the CPC Taizhou Municipal Committee Zhu Lifan announced the start of the event. Leading officials such as Taizhou Liu Xia, Zang Dacun and Zhu Guang attended the ceremony.

The most beautiful reading spaces in Taizhou in 2022 were awarded at the event. Many book stores and reading spaces in Taizhou were awarded.

The Proposal on Carrying Out Thematic Reading Activity of Carrying forward the Spirit of Daring to Do, Daring to Break Through, Daring to Take Responsibilities and Daring to Pioneer in Taizhou was read out at the event.
