Wan Wenhua, the Mayor of Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province, met the Consul General of Denmark to Shanghai, Mikael Hemniti Winther and his entourage on Nov 20.

The mayor talked about the economic and social development of Taizhou and said the city had accelerated its development of a modernized industrial system and four major industrial clusters.
She highlighted the environmental protection cooperation between Taizhou and Denmark in recent years and called for deeper and wider collaboration in various fields.
Furthermore, the mayor invited the envoy to visit Taizhou more often and encouraged Danish entrepreneurs to invest in and conduct commercial activities in her city.
For his part, the Danish representative expressed his admiration of Taizhou and his interest in learning more about the operations of Danish companies there.
He mentioned the positive impact of the "Green Joint Work Program between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Kingdom of Denmark" that was jointly released by the two countries in August.
The envoy emphasized the alignment between Taizhou's industrial and developmental advantages and Denmark's focus areas. He expressed hopes for their mutual learning and deeper cooperation in the fields of environmental protection, renewable energy and maritime affairs.
Back in 2017, Department of Ecology and Environment of Jiangsu Province, the Taizhou Hailing district ecological environment bureau and the soil pollution management center of the Danish region of Hovedstaden signed a cooperation memorandum.
This was to implement the Sino-Danish Soil and Groundwater Demonstration Project in Taizhou's Hailing district.
To date, the project is said to have achieved great results, produced positive international cooperation benefits and had a major social impact.
What's more, it was formally presented at the 24th IE Expo China in April in Shanghai, gaining widespread attention from domestic and foreign enterprises.
