Taizhou city holds industry matchmaking meeting in Beijing

Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province held a signing ceremony for a raft of major projects in the national capital Beijing on May 7, as well as a business deal hookup event to boost its economic growth and forge key partnerships.

The event attracted a wide range of participants, from State-owned enterprises to multinational corporations and academic institutions.

Wan Wenhua, mayor of Taizhou, and Yu Guangsheng, deputy director of the Investment Promotion Agency of the Ministry of Commerce, delivered keynote speeches.

Wan emphasized Taizhou's collaborative spirit and dedication to the advancement of industry. Moreover, she was bullish about the city's widespread support and highlighted a user-focused approach to high-quality development.

Yu praised Taizhou's evolution as a specialized industrial center, noting its strengths in the biomedical and shipbuilding industries.

He outlined the city's strategic pivot towards high-end, intelligent and eco-friendly sectors, foreseeing strong investment opportunities.

The ceremony concluded with the signing of 28 major projects involving a combined investment of 41.67 billion yuan ($5.77 billion).

High-profile ventures included Wuhan Optics Valley United Group Ltd's project costing 12 billion yuan to establish itself in Taizhou's Hailing district and the L4 autonomous logistics vehicle project worth $500 million.
