Taizhou city mayor inspects summer harvest work

Wan Wenhua, mayor of Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province, went to Jiangyan district on June 4 to get the facts on the ground about the summer harvest work currently taking place there.

Emphasizing the provincial and municipal directives, she stressed the need to capitalize on good weather to ensure efficient progress is made for a bumper summer grain harvest.

In particular, she visited the Jingxian Family Farm, a provincial demonstration model for modern agricultural practices. The farm is focused on building a demonstration base for the mechanization of rice production.

Wan inspected the farm's seedling center, agricultural equipment warehouse and its application of unmanned monitoring technology.

She encouraged the farm owner to increase the application of new agricultural technology and to make greater breakthroughs in intelligent and refined agricultural production.

Wan also highlighted the importance of effective weather monitoring, timely information dissemination and the implementation of agricultural policies to guarantee a prosperous harvest.

Later, she visited the Hunan village smart agriculture plant in Qintong town, where she advocated the integration of agriculture, culture and tourism to invigorate rural economies and boost the public's sense of achievement and fulfillment.
