Over 7,500 years ago, land emerged from the waves, shaping the city that we see today. While the sea may have receded, the longing for it is said to remains deeply in grained in the hearts of Taizhou's residents.

Taizhou isn't known for its towering mountains, but it boasts its own symbolic peak: Taishan Mountain.

Named after the city itself, Taishan Mountain attracts visitors not for its height, but for the legends and history it holds.

From the Anding Academy at its southern base – once the teaching grounds of renowned educator, Hu Yuan (993-1059) – at its southern base to the Yue Wumu Shrine at its summit, Taishan Mountain is steeped in the stories of cultural significance and national heroes.
